The Flood Festival
One of Cauldron's biggest and most celebrated traditions, the Flood Festival is a result of the city uniting years ago and working together to ward off dangerously high flood waters from the winter rains. Since then, it has become a time of feasting, contests, performances and enjoyment. Some of the highlights of the Festival are the Drink Down The Flood competition and the Demonskar Ball.
A Brief History of the Flood Festival
32 years ago, the rainiest winter in centuries resulted in massive flood damage to the lowest reaches of Cauldron. Representatives of the churches of Pelor, the Raven Queen, Kord and Bahamut came together and pooled their resources to create Wands of Control Water to lower the flood waters. Next year, the clerics armed with the wands successfully fought back the flood. After the flood season ended, the town celebrated with a massive festival, which grew into the tradition we enjoy today. Since then, the winter rains have lessened - but even though the clerics haven’t needed any wands in over ten years, the Festival is still going strong!
